Walking: I will be within walking distance to campus! It’s basically across the street and takes like 3 minutes to get to the student center. No more taking the bus! Also PLI and his roommate live in the building next door… ;)
Downtown: The apartment is pretty much downtown — the main stretch of the downtown area ends and then the next block is where my new place would be.
Roommate: I’ll be living with my friend Sean, who I have a lot more in common with than the two girls I lived with this year. Not that we didn’t get along (well, maybe with one of them…) but we just didn’t share as many interests / styles / tastes.
Hardwood Floors: It sounds dumb, but I think it’s awesome that this new place has hardwood floors! I’ve always loved the fact that many of my friends’ places have hardwood floors — it just looks so much nicer. The whole thing is cool, it’s kind of old so it has a nice feel to it.

Dreaming of redoing my room...

I’d like to paint it. Not sure what color, maybe a nice earthy / forest green or a dark blue. I’m mostly just tired of the sterile white. However, my room is really large and would have to be repainted whenever I move out, so painting it would be a costly and time-consuming project.

I also am planning on tearing down all of the stuff I have on my walls and putting up new things (and maybe some of the old ones, but I’d like to frame some of the stuff). I don’t like how I hung most of them. I might also try and get some sort of tapestries to hang up until I can get the $$$ / time to paint.

I’d also like to add some shelving at some point, for books or records. Speaking of records, I need to find a nice little table to put my record player and speakers on so that it is no longer on the floor. I’d also like to find a new bed side table.

I think I mostly want to do all of this because I’m kind of unsatisfied by the rest of the house is decorated / the lack of inclusion by my other two roommates, so I’m just going to make my room look really nice and cool and pretend it’s a studio apartment and never leave it!

But mostly just dreaming of taking over my friend’s one bedroom apartment downtown — hardwood floors, one bedroom, perfect location… Ugh.

My biggest problem with 'Born to Die'

is that it can’t possibly be her singing the chorus of ‘Off To The Races’ — it must be some 12 year old. Or when she says ‘Sorry bout it!’ And when she says ‘vit-a-min.’ And her sort of rapping style of singing on some of the songs.

I seriously don’t care about her lips or her authenticity or any of that.
